Positions in this function are responsible for checking in, scheduling appointments, answering billing questions and managing patient medical records for a clinic. Roles may vary based on the size of the clinic(s).

This position is full time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm PST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 24331 EL TORO RD, Suite 330L, Laguna Woods, CA

We offer on-the-job training and the hours during training will be 8:00 am to 5:00 pm PST, Monday – Friday.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional service to all customers
  • Responsible to greet patient and check patient in and out. Ensure demographics including insurance information are correct and update as necessary
  • Collect appropriate co-pays and adhere to all cash handling policies
  • Answers phone, takes messages and routes calls appropriately
  • Schedule appointments as necessary, verifying correct visit type and primary care provider
  • Responsible for waiting room management cleanliness, communicate pertinent information to patients and ensure all patients have been assisted
  • Work with back-office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Resolve service issues and complaints, and defer to appropriate management or clinical personnel when necessary
  • Assist co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent years of experience
  • Must be 18+ yrs of age or older
  • 1+ years of medical front desk experience
  • 1+ years of electronic medical record experience
  • Experience with Computers and Windows based programs including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm PST

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data analysis software
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish)
  • 1+ years of customer service experience

 

 

The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $28.85 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
