Summary: The competent Nurse independently practices in a clinical setting, providing routine and complex care while managing long-term goals and contingencies.

• Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patient situations and makes appropriate assignments and delegations.
  
  
• Meets competencies related to self, others, or leaders, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  
  
• Addresses patients' psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs in accordance with their practice level.
  
  
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols, monitors effects, and documents care comprehensively.
  
  
• Assesses learning needs, provides education to patients and families, and identifies resources.
  Job requirements include a BSN preferred, at least 1 year of relevant experience, BLS certification, and an active RN license in the state or via compact.]]>
